Thunderbolt 4 is the latest revision of Intel’s Thunderbolt interface. It was formally announced in 2019 and began appearing on laptops in 2020. As of early 2021, it is still a relatively new standard and thus is not yet widely available. However, it is expected to become increasingly common in the coming years.

Thunderbolt 4 offers a number of improvements over its predecessors, including increased data transfer speeds, support for up to four lanes of PCI Express data, and compatibility with a wider range of devices. It also introduces a new connector type (USB Type-C) which is reversible, meaning that it can be plugged in without having to determine the orientation first.

Some of the laptops which currently offer Thunderbolt 4 support include the Dell XPS 13 (9310), HP Spectre x360 13, and Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8. A full detailed list is given below which will be updated with new entries.

The Different Types of Laptops

There are a few different types of laptops on the market. The most popular type is the MacBook Pro. It has a Thunderbolt 4 port and is available in 13- and 15-inch models. It also has a Retina display and a touch bar.

MacBooks

MacBooks have always been at the forefront of laptop design and functionality, and the latest generation of MacBooks is no different. The new MacBooks feature Thunderbolt 4 ports, which offer faster data transfer speeds and more flexibility in terms of connectivity. Thunderbolt 4 is the latest standard for connecting laptops to peripheral devices, and it offers a significant upgrade over previous versions of Thunderbolt. If you’re looking for a laptop that can take full advantage of the latest technologies, then a MacBook is a great option.

Windows Laptops

Windows laptops come in a wide variety of sizes, from mini laptops to large gaming laptops. Windows 10 is the most recent version of Microsoft’s operating system, and it’s designed to work with a variety of devices, including laptops, tablets, and phones. Some of the most popular laptop brands that use Windows 10 include Dell, Lenovo, HP and Asus.

One of the main benefits of using a Windows laptop is that there are more choices when it comes to hardware and software compatibility. Windows 10 also supports updates and security features, so you can be sure your laptop is always up-to-date. And because Microsoft Edge is the default web browser on Windows 10 devices, you’ll have a consistent experience across all your devices.

Chromebooks

Chromebooks are laptops, detachable, and tablets powered by Chrome OS: the operating system that is speedy, smart and secure.

There are many different types of Chromebooks available on the market ranging from ultra-portable devices to powerful laptops and detachables. No matter what type of Chromebook you’re looking for, there’s sure to be one that fits your needs.

The three main types of Chromebooks are:

Traditional laptops: these devices are designed for portability and typically have smaller screens (11 to 13 inches) and keyboards. Some traditional Chromebooks also have touchscreens, which can be helpful if you want to use them in tablet mode.

2-in-1 laptops: these devices can be used as both a laptop and a tablet, thanks to their 360-degree hinge. 2-in-1 Chromebooks usually have larger screens (14 to 15 inches) than traditional laptops, making them a good choice if you want a device that’s versatile.

Detachables: these devices feature a detachable keyboard, so they can be used as either a laptop or a tablet. Detachables usually have larger screens than traditional laptops (10 to 12 inches), making them a good choice if you want a device that’s both portable and powerful.

Thunderbolt 4 Laptops

In 2022, many laptops have come with Thunderbolt 4. Thunderbolt 4 is the latest version of Thunderbolt and offers a number of benefits. Thunderbolt 4 is faster than Thunderbolt 3 and offers more compatibility with devices. It also uses the USB Type-C connector, which is becoming more common.

MacBooks

MacBooks have had Thunderbolt 3 for a few years now, and Apple is definitely one of the leaders when it comes to Thunderbolt adoption. All of the current MacBook Pro models have Thunderbolt 3, and the 13-inch MacBook Air also has it. As for the new M1 MacBook Pro and Air, they come with Thunderbolt 4.
