The Details:

Skullcandy is a well-known brand for making quality headsets, most of us know it when we are using a Skullcandy on our ears through the high quality and crispy sound that comes with it, ensuring us we got our hands on a piece of tech that was designed with quality in mind.

This headphone bears the footprints of bringing quality with a relatively lower price tag and hence making a perfect fit between quality, performance, and price. While it’s build quality adds another star in its rating, as making a nice looking headphone might not be hard nowadays, but making it durable and nice looking can be tough, and that’s where Skullcandy seems to have delivered as expected.

With most Bluetooth headphones only covering one aspect among the quality, performance, durability, sound quality, and comfort and leave a few still to be desired. This headset comes with a very nice premium packaging, but the packaging and all doesn’t really matter, what matters is, does it have the right sound? Will it hold up with the test of time?

And that is exactly where this Skullcandy Bluetooth headphone delivers, and not only brings you the premium sound, but it has the comfort, it has the durability, the style, and the battery can last for long enough for you to enjoy all your music without having to constantly switch between the wires.

With the current price tag, it’s a must-have if you’re a music enthusiast and love to have the freedom of walking around without having to worry about certain wires clinging, and not to forget the stylish look that and durability, that help you feel relaxed and assured that you are flaunting a nice and sturdy piece of tech, which can only help attract the right kind of attention towards you.

So let’s Talk about the Sound Quality in Detail

Lows

If you happen to be a lover of bass, you’ll love listening to this headset. It’s got just the right amount of it, and won’t overpower till you push the volume to the max and that too only because of how loud this headset can get when on the max. But yes, this is definitely a bass-heavy for an on ear headset. The ones who prefer a more balanced sound might get slightly disappointed, but given the bass is just at the right setting, it should definitely be a nice experience.

Mids

The mids here are a bit warm, and if you think of songs like “Buried in Detroit” are the ones that really benefit. The instruments in the background could’ve been clearer, but clear and crisp vocals do matter more in the end.

Highs

This Skullcandy Bluetooth headphone does get very loud when the volume is maxed up, resulting in harsh hi-hats and cymbals, and that’s where the on ear-piece volume controls come to your help. As a little bit of adjustment of volume can quickly turn some harshly done tracks into easy to listen, pieces of art. But still, these headphones do an amazing job at handling of the top sounds, and if the loudness was not an issue, there definitely won’t be any other complaints to think about.

About the Connectivity then?

The Grind Wireless being wireless, instantly enter the pairing mode when turned on, and will look for the last device used to pair them with. They come with a range of about 30 feet as claimed by the manufacturer, which is pretty standard for similar devices nowadays. While if going with the user reviews, they seem to connect well at 30 feet even with walls in between and can be even pushed to around 40 feet before the audio would start breaking apart, which is pretty good for headphones depending on a tech that sometimes can be a bit flaky.
Call quality, however, can be a bit lacking here and though, you might be able to make one or answer with relative ease in an empty room, but in crowded places or the outdoors, it can suffer.

Aha, so what about the Build Quality then?

Looking pretty identical to the wired counterpart, the Grind Wireless Bluetooth headphones come with 40mm drivers for the speakers, which also come in varying color options. The ear pads might not carry a lot of padding as you would expect, but the headband being covered in a mesh, seems to fit perfectly on the head. But of course, some minor ear comfort can be expected for extended usage but as long as your on-ear time doesn’t exceed an hour or two, you should be fine. But this, of course, can vary for different people and some might be able to listen throughout the 12 hours of battery time and might not feel any comfort at all, while others can start feeling uneasiness after an hour of usage.

The headband is easily adjustable to fit different head sizes with ease, but the folding option is missing, which can be a problem for those who like to fold and carry around when not using. That said, the headphones are very durable and the headband is made of metal, hence surviving a trip in your backpack might not be an issue at all. And while the left ear cup comes empty and clean, the right has the volume, connectivity, and track control options.

Another thing about this Skullcandy Bluetooth headphone is that the manufacturer decided not to put a lot of branding on it. You won’t see the word Skullcandy anywhere on the headphones, and the only logo that can be seen is the small skull on the headband, which actually looks pretty neat and stylish and adds to the premium look and design.

Battery Life Then?

Well, coming to the battery life, its estimated to be around 12 hours at around 75% volume, and this has been confirmed to be pretty accurate by user reviews.  While about 11 hours of usage has been confirmed by those using them at full volume all the time.

Conclusion

The Grind Wireless is definitely not the most amazing and unique pieces of headphones you can ever buy, but they are a solid pair of headphones, which are on ear and Bluetooth, which tend to be hard to come by nowadays, especially not with this kind if build and sound quality. Most of the manufacturers have become so obsessed with the larger over the ear or the small in the ear headsets, that on the ear seem to get neglected quite often. And then coming at a price of below $100, we can’t really hold ourselves back from not recommending these headphones.
