Snapchat is a mobile application which allows users to take photos, text, and draw them on the screen while sending them to friends. It is distinct from other social media services, such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, because it offers only a “story” feature, not a profile or feed.
This platform is very popular for people to share their memoirs with their friends and family.
Similarly, like other social media users, you can just click and connect with people in and around your circle to be their Snapchat friends. Even if Snapchat keeps its users informed and engaged with timely alerts on an assortment of activities, but is there any way to know if someone unfriended you on Snapchat?
If you see someone has unfriended or un-added you on Snapchat, it may have to do with something personal. However, you can still try to know what they are talking about by looking at their story.
Does Snapchat send Unfriend Notifications?
You will be able to receive notifications from Snapchat anytime someone adds you as a friend, but unfortunately you won’t be notified for any other friend activity.
Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat do not notify users that someone has blocked or unfriended them. If you think your friend hasn’t replied to your message for a long time, you may want to check their privacy settings.
Though it doesn’t come in a straightforward way, still there are many ways you can discover if someone has unfriended you on Snapchat or not.
Knowing if Someone Unfriended you on Snapchat:
Snapchat has lots of features that let you interact and track your friends and people you’re interested in.
To know if someone has unfriended you on Snapchat, it’s not that simple and straight. You need to try one or more of the methods described below to confirm that you’re unfriended by another user on Snapchat.
Method 1 – Verify From Your Followers List
The easiest way to tell if you have been unfollowed by a person is to check your follower’s list.
If a user has unfriended you on Snapchat, then they will no longer be visible in your Friends list.
The first thing you must do to get this is to log into the Snapchat app.
Click the “More” drop down menu.
Search for “My Friends.”
Go to the “Search” page, enter the name, and then click the Search button.
If the search results do not display the said profile, it means that the person has unfriended you on Snapchat.
You can only see who’s unfriended you if you’re the person who initiated the request.
Method 2 – Make Sure To View Snapchat Score
A Snapchat score is an aggregated of the total number of snaps sent and received. If someone has unfriended you on Snapchat, then this score will not show up on your screen when you visit their profile.
It’s easy to check a friend’s SnapScore. Visit the profile page of the friend, and you’ll find their SnapScore.
If you haven’t unfriended the person that sent you the snap, it will show up on the bottom of their screen.
If you don’t see something appear, then you have been removed from their friends list.
Method 3 – Test Out Story Views
This is another method that will help you know if someone unadded you on Snapchat by keeping track of your story’s view count.
Your stories will no longer be visible to a person who had formerly been your friend but has unfriended you.
When you post a story on Snapchat, it will be visible only to those users who follow. When you keep an eye on a particular person, it’s possible that you will find that they have not seen your stories for quite some time. Which can mean they might have unfriended you.
Method 4 – Check The Chat Window
This is the most sure method. It’s simpler and more accurate than any other method.
For the most part, you can’t control who you follow and unfollow on Snapchat. When you open the app, you see all of your followers.
Click on the chat icon.
If there is a particular question that you have with the person, send it their way.
If you receive an alert in the chat window and see a message “YOUR CHAT WILL BE PENDING UNTIL XYZ ADDS YOU AS A FRIEND”, this means that the person who was once your friend, has removed you are no longer following you.
Method #5: Check how they appear inside search results
If someone unfriends you on Snapchat, you’ll still see their profile picture and their snap, but they will no longer appear in your stories.
You can check this by opening the Snapchat app and tapping on the search icon in the top left corner.
Search for the person by typing his or her name in the “Search” box at the top.
